Catering Lead Job Summary
The Catering Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of catering events for our school. This position reports to the Dining Services Manager in coordination with our Executive Chef. This individual ensures the successful execution of catering services by supervising the event and servers as well as maintaining high-quality service standards. The Catering Lead collaborates with various teams to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our event owners.
General Job Duties
Event Coordination:
• Plan, organize, and execute catering events in accordance with event owner specifications.
• Coordinate with event owners to understand their needs, preferences, and any special requirements.
• Ensure timely setup, service, and breakdown of catering events.
Staff Management:
• Supervise catering staff, including servers, bartenders, and other event personnel.
• Conduct staff training sessions to maintain high service standards and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Assign duties to catering staff based on event requirements.
Quality Assurance:
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and service to ensure they meet or exceed event owner’s expectations.
• Address any issues or concerns promptly and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Event Owner Relations:
• Build and maintain positive relationships with our event owners, addressing any concerns and seeking feedback.
• Communicate effectively with event owners to confirm event details, menu choices, and any other relevant information.
• Provide recommendations for menu enhancements based on event owner preferences and industry trends.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of catering events, including event details, menu selections, and feedback.
• Assist with the generation of reports on catering performance, including revenue, expenses, customer satisfaction, and team feedback.
Other Duties:
• Daily cashier support during lunch, passing periods and afterschool
• Organize, rotate and stock Grab and Go items daily
• May need to occasionally work outside of normal shift hours.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager
Job Qualifications:
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 1 year of related experience in food, beverage, and/or hospitality.
• Must have a current Washington State Food Handlers Permit
• Proven experience in catering or hospitality management.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and catering industry trends.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including a few evenings.
• Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Position requires considerable physical activity.
• May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs
Compensation:
Hourly pay — $22-26 per hour.
