Open Window School (K-8, coed, 360 student day school) is seeking highly qualified candidates for its Middle School Math Teacher position.

Position Overview

Open Window School is welcoming applications for a Math Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a rare opportunity for a talented, innovative, energetic, experienced teacher to join our team. A passion for math is a must for this position!

The mission of the OWS mathematics department is to develop adept problem solvers who see the beauty of mathematics and recognize its power to describe the world around them. This is accomplished through helping students develop four key attributes: curiosity, courage, collaboration, and creativity. Other responsibilities include participation in weekly department and faculty meetings, leading an advisory group focusing on social-emotional learning, teaching or supervising clubs, leading a student community leadership group and chaperoning overnight trips and attendance at some evening and weekend activities.

Major Areas of Responsibility/Specific Duties:

·       Teach a combination of courses including an accelerated 5th grade math curriculum, pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2 and geometry.

·       Design engaging, mission-aligned lessons and projects from base curriculum resources while meeting program goals and standards.

·       Assess students using multiple measures and communicate regularly with families about student progress.

·       Support students with differentiation and accommodations in the classroom.

·       Maintain curriculum maps and course documentation as required.

·       Show a commitment to continuous learning, staying current with field studies and innovation in content area, DEIB work, and gifted education.

·       Collaborate with colleagues in the math department, across departments and across grade levels as part of the middle school team and serve as an advisor to middle school students.

·       Participate in co-curricular school activities and overnight trips.

·       Attend weekly faculty meetings and other meetings and events as needed.

·       Support the community with other school-related responsibilities as assigned.

Skills:

·       Bachelor’s or higher degree.

·       Teaching certificate preferred.

·       Experience in gifted education is a plus.

Position Details:

Manager: Director of the Middle School

Compensation: $61,910 – $118,070 (based on education and experience)

Position Classification: Exempt, Full Time; this position is benefit eligible

Hours: 8am – 4pm, Tuesdays until 5pm. This role requires some commitments outside these hours including but not limited to school events and Middle School Trips.
