BIPOC Voices Summit

Share Your Voice!

BIPOC Voices is a program, created by POCIS Northwest, that brings together educators working in our member schools. In BIPOC Voices, educators share ideas, offer support and encouragement, and discuss ways for our respective schools to implement the ideas and approaches shared by guest speakers.

In fall and spring, POCIS Northwest hosts a BIPOC Voices Summit. See below for more information.

The Art of Becoming: Reshaping Ourselves and the Spaces We Lead

May 1, 2026

8:30 a.m. –  2:30 p.m.

at Hamlin Robinson School

1701 20th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144

This retreat is centered on creating space for educators to step out of the daily hustle of school life, and pause and reflect intentionally on our leadership during challenging times in which we are leading and caring for students in community with one another. In a profession that so often asks us to move quickly from one demand to the next, this day invites us to slow down, reconnect, and consider the impact we are having on the communities we serve.

We begin by grounding ourselves in community and connection. Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity to reflect, create, learn, and be in community together.

Through guided reflective practices, dialogue, embodied experiences, and creative practice, participants will explore how intentional leadership and healing-centered approaches can deepen belonging in our schools and communities. Multiple facilitators and presenters will guide participants through experiences designed to reconnect us to our purpose, strengthen our relationships with one another, and deepen our understanding of the marks we make as educators and leaders.

Participants will leave with new language, resources, and a renewed sense of grounding to support both their personal and collective leadership in educational spaces.
