Working to increase diverse talent in our independent schools

This annual recruiting event is for sharing information and opportunities for individuals of color interested in working in regional independent schools.

At the Diversity Career Fair, attendees hear from diversity practitioners about working in independent schools and meet with schools to learn about current career opportunities. Attendees also have the option to receive feedback on their resume prior to the career fair.

What will I learn?

Through informational sessions with diversity practitioners, attendees will learn about:

  • Working in an independent school.
  • Benefits and compensation.
  • Mentorship and support programs.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Education and experience requirements.

During the career fair:

  • Learn about current career opportunities at participating schools in the Northwest regions, including Washington, Oregon, and Utah.
  • Network with school representatives.
  • Share your resume with a variety of institutions.

What is the cost of registration?

There is no cost to register and attend the fair.

What should I be prepared to talk about?

Attendees should be prepared to talk about their professional experience and any questions they may have about working in independent schools.

What should I wear?

Business casual suggested. Attendees are encouraged to wear what they feel comfortable in, keeping in mind that they will have opportunities to meet with employer representatives from participating schools.

Where is the career fair?

The Diversity Career Fair will host two events, one virtual and one in person. Links and instructions will be shared with registrants by email.

How will the virtual fair work?

Attendees will join the virtual event, and, after participating schools are introduced, they will join breakout rooms with diversity practitioners. The diversity practitioners will share their experience and answer questions about working in independent schools. Following the breakout sessions, attendees will have opportunities to meet with hiring representatives from the participating schools.

How will the in-person fair work?

Attendees will check in, attend an opening session, and then hear from diversity practitioners about working in independent schools. Following, attendees will have opportunities to walk around and meet with hiring representatives from the participating schools at their tables.
