Black Educators Socials

A group photo from one of the Seattle Black Educator Socials events.

Black Educator Social (BES) events are organized by a committee of local Black educators in independent schools and are designed to provide a space for Black educators in Seattle to build and strengthen community, revitalize, and practice using Black joy as resistance. BES events of the past have included ax-throwing, drag shows, pumpkin carving, and breaking bread.
