JOB SUMMARY

Eastside Catholic School is seeking a High School Biology and Anatomy Teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The ideal candidate is a passionate science educator who inspires students, thrives in a collaborative environment and is contributing to a faith-based educational community.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Establish clear objectives for assigned lessons, labs, learning targets and projects and communicate those objectives to students, following department curriculum
  • Collaborate with Science Department colleagues to align curriculum and share innovative teaching ideas and best practices
  • Plan and teach five biology and/or anatomy sections covering all levels, from on-level and honors through AP, using the most up-to-date pedagogical and laboratory techniques, following NGSS standards
  • Develop the curriculum materials, syllabus, outlines and assessments in alignment with the department
  • Oversee and assess the development and progress of each student
  • Participate in faculty, department and committee meetings as required
  • Serve as a Mentor teacher to a group of 15-18 students

Requirements
Deep understanding of biology curriculum, including AP, honors and on-level chemistry and/or biology curriculum
Experience implementing differentiated instruction to meet a range of student needs
Proficiency with classroom technology and digital learning tools
Ability to foster positive relationships with students and their families
Strong interpersonal, collaborative and organizational skills
A commitment to practices that promote equity, inclusion and belonging in the classroom and school community

Education and experience

Bachelor’s degree in biology or closely related field (required)
Recent high school teaching experience in biology (required)
Teaching certificate (preferred)
Graduate degree in a science-related field or education (preferred)

Salary Description
Range: $54,500-$109,105 Annually
