Pastry/Deli Cook

Eastside Preparatory School is seeking a Pastry/Deli Cook to join our established team! We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and grow within our school, a team player, detail oriented, personable, and driven.

Key skills we are looking for in a candidate are flexibility, excellent communication skills, and someone who can work in a fast-paced environment. We host a variety of events, which keeps things very fun and interesting!

General Job Duties 

• Preparation of deli sandwiches, salad bar, dessert daily
• Preparation of specialty items including but not limited to gluten free, nut free, dairy free, vegan, etc.
• Daily kitchen support during breakfast and lunch
• Ensure timely setup, service, and breakdown of workstation

Quality Assurance: 

• Monitor food quality, ensure proper labeling and rotation
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Address any issues or concerns promptly and implement corrective actions.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of related experience in fast-paced food industry.
• Must have a current Washington State Food Handlers Permit
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Considerable physical activity.
• May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Compensation:

Hourly pay — $22-26 per hour.
